With the arrival of devices, wrist or wall watches are losing importance in terms of functionality, so this project aims to give new life and definition to the concept of a watch. The clock will not follow the normal time canons (actual hours), but will indicate the perceived quality of time. If you have fun, time flies, if you are bored, time never passes. The quality of time is measured on the basis of users' moods through an EQ-Radio system which behaves like a Wi-Fi router.

An antenna will emit low frequency FM waves and pick up the waves reflected by nearby objects and people. An algorithm inside the device analyzes the captured waves, excluding environmental data and will examine heartbeat and expiration rate determining emotional moods.

Wrist watch

EQ-Radio technology is adopted due to the necessary lack of physical contact between the watch and the user for wall model. On wristwatch model, where the contact is possible, a cardio-respiratory sensor will capture the body functions to determinate the emotional mood of the user. Inside the shell LED will display the feedbacks, rotating in orbit and accelerating if the quality of time is positive and slowing down if it's negative.

Emotional Technology

The two models just seen, will be connected to the app, where is possible to check the average time quality and review emotions experienced in any moment. The UI has been designed to match with the product aesthetic and is made by diagrams of the heartbeat and respiratory rate. In fact, the algorithm codify the user's moods through physiological valence and excitement. The coordinates of this values will place the user in the studied semiotic framework. The framework is divided in 4 quadrants and each quadrant represents a feeling: anger, happiness, sadness and serenity.
